Hey all, my Colorado eclipsed 300K last month and this month it threw a rod. I just replaced about everything else in the motor and was hoping I might find a short block. Any Ideas? Google, Craigslist and ebay has been no help.

Yep, that is 2000 miles a month not 23,000. 300,000/12 years/12 months =2083
So I buy a Volvo to get me by for a minute and now it has a rod knock. I can't win!
I was looking for a used bottom half for the chevy.

damn the luck.. I don't think short blocks are available on these newer engines?? Not like the good ol' days. I guess now you have to spend 5 grand or more for the whole thing.

Most major cities have engine rebuilders, the 2.5 I4 has been around long enough that they should have cores. A good shop can rebuild your LB in a week or so.
