Any Miscellaneous Tips or Easter Eggs?

For those who have twin experience, are there any not easily discoverable functions or Easter Eggs that you can share with a person who has never owned one?

For example, I learned yesterday that I can change the Speedometer Screen Type to a different layout when holding down the screen button on the steering wheel for 3 seconds. Pretty neat, I really like the one that is squared off and not round.

I also read that you can have all the windows roll down with the key fob by holding down the unlock button. Once again, neat.

I am coming from a Ford where I was able to use Forscan, it is impressive what that software lets you control, I do not know if the twins have a comparable piece of software? Many vehicles have hidden screens as well where a person with knowledge can set some parameters etc.

Anyone have any tip to share?

Use your parking brake routinely otherwise your "main" brake pedal can become mushy.
(Found this out months after dealer replaced master cylinder for this problem...)

This is not correct... My bad...

If your truck has memory seats: if you release the parking brake while the seat is still moving to your "driving" position, the seat will immediately stop. The only way to finish the move is to press and hold the appropriate memory button on the door.

I knew there was a way because we saw it the tach and speedo changed in one video posted here months ago, but nobody has made a thread like this since taking delivery. Granted, only about 3 people (/s) have taken delivery across the US rn, but I digress...

What model is this on? One with the smaller 8" screen in the cluster? I want to see what changes can be made to both the full size and smaller clusters.

Did you try the all windows thing yet? NGL, that's pretty neat. I wish there was a way to control where they roll down to. Right after a wash, roll em all down just a smidge to get the top portion usually hidden under the window deflectors. If/when you try it, see if it only goes all the way down and do you have to hold it the whole time, or will it stop once you release the button?

It's like resetting the oil life meter on some vehicles: Some are very simple and you can just chose to reset them, and some require a sequence of random button presses while clicking your heels 3 times and hoping you don't end up in Kansas on the 3rd button press.

Yes I did. It works. No control to it, they go all the way down once moving so you cannot do partial as far as I know.

I live in the south were the land is flat and we NEVER use the parking brake, you would say anytime there is an incline you would recommend using the parking brake to help save the regular brake, correct?

Can anyone expound on this?

Thanks! Still, that's pretty cool.

I'm a nerd. I use the parking brake all the time.

I've been driving in south Louisiana for 24yrs and the only time anyone uses a parking brake is when using a boat launch, because thats the only place there is an incline here 😂👌

Yup, biggest hills in SWFL is usually the entrance to parking lots. :)
Can anyone expound on this?
That parking brake thing doesn't make sense. We use a completely separate mechanical parking brake mechanism inside the rear brake rotor hat. Eddie just had a bad master cylinder, plain and simple.

Yeah, it didn’t make sense to me. AFAIK, the only thing that results in a mushy pedal is air in the lines. And now apparently a bad MC.

Here's something I discovered about my Z71 that no one has discussed in any of these threads. You can set the side view mirrors to tilt down when you put the truck in reverse. If you go into Settings>Vehicle>Comfort and Convenience> Reverse Tilt Mirror you can choose between Off, On - Driver and Passenger, On - Driver, On - Passenger. I don't use it, but I thought that was pretty neat.

Thats good if they go back to the original position after you disengage reverse. I wouldn't want to be constantly resetting them back to where I had them set to see both sides when driving.

They do return to normal position. Just don’t adjust them while in the reverse position. Ask me how I know. ;)

They do automatically go back to their previous setting when you shift out of reverse.

Not sure what’s with the other users all windows down switch, mine is a toggle that I’m able to release and all the windows stop rolling down at whatever interval I release it at.
And as far as the gauge cluster customization there is 3 settings, the original, a hexagonal type that looks more fighter pilot ish, and another one pretty similar to the original but kind of has a smaller tach

If you like to monitor your mpg, you can change the trip information in DIC from the main screen Vehicle Info page to display the instant and past 50 miles rather than trip 1 and trip 2. I personally prefer that info and the look.

I love the all windows down from the key fob tip. Thanks!

The windows down switch inside the cab is not what was referred to, it is the windows down via the remote.
You can enable Developer Mode just like any Android phone or tablet.

As for how to get ADB.... I am unsure. Likely need a special driver, or it's done through some other mechanism.
