When I drive to work in the mornings here in FL, it's cool enough so I don't usually need the A/C on. So, I tend to open my window, depress the A/C button so the light goes off, sent vents to upper, recirc to off, turn the temp knob all the way to the left so it reads "lo", turn off "auto" and set fan speed for setting 1 or 2. After a few minutes of driving I feel the air coming out of my vents is very cold. I can adjust the temp knob higher and the air coming out will adjust accordingly.

My question is, as recirc, auto and A/C are off, shouldn't this just be blowing outside air in with no heating or cooling? I'm just trying to allow the outside air to blow in. Any thoughts on this?
