I have read every single thread on this issue and still can't find a fix. When I move my steering back and forth you can here a slight knock in the steering column. Its mostly noticeable offroad and has gotten a bit worse over time. I orginally noticed it after installing my eibach 3 inch kit over a year ago with stock tires and wheels. I recently did a zone 1.5 body lift and noticed since then its gotten even worse before I couldn't hear it on road situations but when I pull into my drive way or hit certian bumps in the road I can feel it in the wheel. I think its the lower idmiate shaft like others have stated on the forum but still haven't been able to get an actual answer. I saw the tsb recall on this but I don't think it affects my late model 16 built in September at some point. We are now in 2021 so I'm way out of my warranty. I only have 42k on the truck and this is very frustrating I can't find an answer on here. If anyone actually knows I would like do the work myself. if you need a video of the noise pls lmk but plenty of other videos out there I have seen on this issue

If you do a body lift, you need to lengthen the steering shaft... right? I think you could install the redesigned shaft yourself as GM might not honor the fix since you did a body lift. (it doesn't matter if it's out of warranty since it is a design flaw) I think the original problem was the steering shaft , but now exacerbated by the body lift.

There are multiple kits on the market and none of them require a extension of the shaft you do disconnect it so it dosent bind during lift procedure. As for the shaft I think it really is that I wanted to add when I'm in parking lots backing or pulling in the spot the sound kinda sounds like the rack but I hear the knock elsewhere.

Thank you tho I think I'm going to bite the bullet and just buy the new lower shaft unless I get my dealer to replace it for me. I see there is a service bulletin I belive for this part number?

Same here on my 2017 lt v6, steering knocking at low speeds on uneven or gravel road, annoying. Dealership replacement steering colom, from shocks and electric power steering rack, all on warranty, no of these fixed the problem. Does anybody have a real fix, besides changing my truck?
