Just wondering....I got an Alpine radio to put in my 2012 canyon and after looking at the fit kits for it, it seams I cannot just get a aftermarket wiring harness I also have to run an extra power wire? Does anyone have knowledge of this? any help would be usefull.

Just get the Metra GMOS 01 harness and follow the wiring instructions. Not extra power wire needed.

Do not use the scosche harness, they are junk

Ok and this will not mess any other electronics up in the truck? I know I will loss onstar and all that but some people are saying it causes other electrical problems.

The scosche brand harness is the one that causes problems.


The Metra gmos-01 will retain on star, the door and warning chimes and cause no problems. I have had this harness in my 2011 for 6 years with no issues

Everyone here will tell you the same thing, the Metra gmos-01 works. Anything else and you are just asking for trouble.

also If I get a metra/axxcess one does anyone have the wiring instructions they can post? I just have the radio and the onstar features but seams to have more hookups than that I am only asking cause I may get one used off ebay and they do not have they instructions.
