04 Colorado canopy third brake light wiring.

I recently purchased a canopy for my truck and it fits perfect. However I’ve been trying to tap into different wires so I can get my third brake light on the canopy turning on. I made sure the light works by connecting the two wires to a battery and it turned on. I’m wondering if anyone else has wired it themselves and are willing to show How they did it.

I haven't done it yet. but I plan on connecting my canopy light down to the trailer light assembly. back behind the bumper. I did the same thing with this tailgate led light strip I installed. I have the towing package tho. if you don't have the towing package you wouldn't have this assembly im talking about.
