I have a 2005 Colorado, it has 285/70/17 wheels on it, 3.5L engine and 4speed auto trans. I have been having the issue of my truck hunting for a gear around 55/60mph. Sometimes when accelerating in town it will flip between 4th and overdrive but it will do it uncontrollably. The truck revs up and down between 2500rpm and 2700rpm about 10 times if I do not decelerate or accelerate rapidly. I have no load and am not going up hill. I will drop it down into 3rd and it fixes it for about 15miles then it will begin to hunt for a gear the same way just not reving between 3200rpm and 3500rpm. I am thinking it is the torque converter clutch solenoid but I am not sure.
