I have a 2018 GMC Canyon. Would this be plug and play?

Toughsox you are correct. Initiating a remote start will not activate the heated function of the wheel. The wiring for the heating switch is not controlled by the BCM, but directly wired into the fuse panel and can only be turned on manually after the truck is started.

That sucks. If it came on when its 5 degrees outside and I remote start the truck, Id be all over this. But if I gotta wait, I dont get the concept.....the truck will be warm by then.

But, I do know that the people that have this love it so, who am I to judge. =) Thanks for the info though.

My Build date on the truck is 2-2018. I have heard that the air bag might be different from those produced after 4-2018... 2 vs 3 prong? Do know if this true and would it still work with my truck. Very interested.

thanks

tom

You would have to pop off your air bag (easy to do) and check to see, otherwise theres no way of knowing if you have the 3 or 2 prong

I'm in Minnesota and installed a heated wheel in my truck last year. I can remote start to warm up the truck then get inside, press the button and in about 20-30 seconds, I have a heated wheel! This thing really heats up fast. I wouldn't hesitate installing this in your truck, you will appreciate it! Wish we lived closer to demonstrate it for you.
