Official Silver Lake sand dunes summer trip

It's time to start preparing for summer trips!
Even though like 2 weeks ago the sand dunes in Mears Michigan had about 2 feet of snow and a temperature of minus 15 degrees they will open again in less than 6 weeks.

If we start picking dates 4 months in advance we have a good chance of having a large group there.

What is everyone's opinions on the June 14-16 or June 21-23 weekend?

Merged your threads into this one since the location is in the Michigan / Midwest. Lets try to keep these meetup threads from cluttering the off-road section by posting them in already existing regional meetup threads @gregg6668.

I spend most my summer weekends at silver lake at a seasonal campground. This will be my first year with the Zr2. Cant wait to see what it can do in the dunes. My regular dune toy was a v8 jeep cj7, now its a v8 jeep grand cherokee. I believe the Zr2 will see ample time in the sand!

450 acre scramble area. yeah, definitely does not compare to Glamis but very fun. its nice that you can drive within 50 yards of Lake Michigan for a beach day. theres a dedicated dragway and some challenging hills for most people and their rigs.

Itís small but the ďfastĒ and low visibility areas are directional. 10 foot flags required. Crowds are heavy on holiday weekends. Many places to stay.

99% of the accidents there are quads.
