Probably the last time I get to do this in this truck. My 2018 ZR2 is supposed to get delivered to the dealer Monday.

Now, a newb here, Can I do some Off Roading with 2WD? I got some good AT tires, and I know I probably cant do something like in that last pic from maxwell_hau5_caffy
but, I mean come on, some rocky trails, or dirt roads with some bumps?

Any help is appreciated!
Fifty years ago I was taught that you go off road in 2WD and do not engage 4WD until you need to get unstuck. These trucks can be pretty good in 2WD. Enjoy it.

I do, I had an old 1996 Silverado Extended Cab 4x4 loved it but it had big ass running boards and was getting old. Sold it exactly a year a ago and I missed having a truck. So when I got a new job closer to home I dumped the Cruze and got my Colorado. My kids love it too, now I just need to practice and learn more about offroading.

I recommend learning about how 4wd works and your locking rear diff. This will help you choose lines least likely to get you stuck. :)

Start here! (I break the first rule all the time and my luck will eventually run out)

Then these are good.

Couple of pics from a quick trip out to Citrus WMA here north of Tampa from this past weekend. Absolutely loved how the ZR2 ate everything up.
