Upgraded horn

Has any one upgraded their horn? I want to but all the wiring diagrams I find are for 1 wire installs and the Colorado has 2 wires.

I'm upgrading mine in the near future.....but I'm not replacing mine, I am adding to it. leaving the stock horns in place, but adding an air tank, compressor and horns!! same tone/db level as a standard tractor trainer (SEMI's) horn. If they can't hear me now, they must be DEAF!

Tight fit but doable

Use the existing power lead to power the relay

Just looked up the 4 horn set and listened to some videos. Awesome! Reminds me of my parents old Buicks. I think this is a great upgrade. Anyone done one of these installs?

This is what I did, I have a separate power wire for the new horn through a relay, triggered by the factory horn wire so I have all of them blaring.

EDIT TO ADD:

I've thought many times about spending the bucks to add a set of Nathan Air Chimes (If you've ever heard a train horn, those are Nathans), but have come to conclusion that I'd rather have a surface to surface missile system instead. Anyone know any reputable arms dealers? Google isn't much help.

I did the 4 note Cadillac horns also but wired separate from factory horn, so I could have a "friendly" "hey you" horn and a "Hey F*er pay attention" horn

I suggest you find John Wick at the Continental Hotel. Rumor has it, he has a back room full of such goodies. If he has a 'Buy 1 - Get 1 Free sale' going on, let me know. I'll go in halves with ya.

Part 1 of the next mod.....the trumpets are on the way, I bought them separately to do all of the fitment and mounting first before committing to getting the compressor and tank. but I am very confident that I can find a good place to mount them.

Come to think of it, I've had the truck for two months and haven't even tested the horn yet.

you will find it VERY WEAK.....if you need to alert someone that's not paying attention, and have their radio on, they won't hear you until its too late.
