Low pitch wine from transmission

While driving the other day I noticed a whining sound. At first I thought it had something to do with the AC, maybe a belt slipping a bit or something, but when I shut the AC off it was still there. As I drove a bit it continued then the transmission up shifted with a minor thump then everything smoothed out and the whining sound was gone. My 2016 6 cyl truck has always shifted oddly, sometimes down shifting or up shifting needlessly on small hills, but this latest event was the first of it's kind. Over the last few days it has worked perfectly. Anybody else have this happen and should I have it checked out just in case? I only have 11k on it.

Have it looked at.

You may be out of your bumper to bumper (due to age), but should be covered under the powertrain warranty.

On the 16 the update is great, it will not fix a "whine" though.

Like the rest said, better take it in, at least get the update and the noise documented.
