Anyone else patiently waiting to see the 2020 models?

So I currently own a 2015 Colorado crew cab V6 which is my daily. Pretty happy with it overall. I'm also the proud owner of a 2016 Camaro SS which is my "baby" so to speak. But being married with two young girls (1 and 4 yrs old) is making me wonder if its just time to let go of my "baby". I love that car, but I have zero time to enjoy it, not to mention I'm super picky with it. My plan is/was to keep it through these "rough" years where it won't be driven much, but then enjoy it more as the girls get older. I might just stick with that plan too.

Anyways...I'm just waiting...waiting for someone to entice me with a cool new mid-size truck offering. Tacoma and Ranger do not really interest me. I still think Colorado/Canyon are overall better as they are now. I have to admit...RAM had me thinking for a short time. But if I'm going to do this, I want something fairly unique.

If I do decide to make the move on a new truck, I'll sell off both my rides and hopefully owe nothing or very little on the new one. ZR2 is tempting, but not really right for me. (now if they offered a V8 or turbo V6 in that guy, I'd be in one right now I think as it would be too much to resist lol. Sweet Jesus if they'd make a mid-size 1" lowered performance truck it would be mine also). Denali Canyon is on my list. Last option would be taking a heavily optioned LT Colorado, or Canyon SLT and then doing a fair amount of custom accessories/wheels/tires to make it my own.

Small part of me still holds out hope for a refreshed Colorado/Canyon, but with almost zero evidence of that so far (no camo'd trucks or real solid leaks I've seen) I don't think we'll get a refreshed truck. New generation is supposed to hit around 2022 I believe, but I really would be surprised if these trucks didn't get a facelift and interior update...even if minor, until then.

I hope to hear something on the 2020's soon....we should get that soon-ish right? Who knows...maybe the 2020's will finally go to 8 way powered seats? lol OK...my rambling is over.

a lot are. Hoping for some official announcement soon. I will be purchasing a 2020 model truck, and hope GM brings something to the table that will entice me.

Only way I'll give up my 2016 is if someone steals it, then and only then will I consider the 2020. And with that, I'll definitely be ordering mine so I get it the way I want it. Then I'll just be stupid again and drop a few $$$ into it to make it my own.

Even if I do get something new I have to keep my 16, it's not done yet. But I'm with you if they came out with an SS Colorado I'd buy one.

Ive seen all the non-'stock" Colorados and, while they all look great, (ZR2, Bison, Centennial, Midnight, etc etc) I love my ZR-71.

But....an SS one? Yea, that would be a sexy new addition in my household.

A brand new 2020 Colorado? Highly unlightly. Chevy blew it's wad on the 2019 Silverado and the 2020 Corvette.

2020 Corvette? I believe you are thinking about the mid-engine C8, which likely will be a 2021 model.

I wasn't implying there could be a brand new 2020 Colorado/Canyon...just a refresh. Its clear the 3rd generation isn't coming until at least 2022 based on educated guess. But what would be strange, would be no styling refresh until then. In this day in age, that pretty much never happens. That's not to say they haven't updated the midsize twins...they certainly have (updated V6, 8 speed, new interior technologies, etc.)

As for blowing their money...there is more to come. The new Blazer was just dropped, and a new generation of full size GM SUVs (Tahoe, Yukon, Escalade) is coming within the next year. New EV models will drop soon also. Lets just hope GM left a little room in there for the mid-size trucks. lol

I don’t think they will wait till 2022, well, think a lot will depend on how well the Ford Ranger does. If the Ranger moves well GM will have to step up there game.

Not to sway you but the Ram Warlock with the hemi will be out in a month or so...and the Ram Mid-size will be out next year 2020. It is going to be built in same plant as the Jeep truck..

They may tweak the motor in the twins this next year, maybe different grille and push button start, not...

I'm patiently waiting for the 2030 models. That's probably when I'll be in the market for a new truck.

sounds like no one would be interested if they brought out the 10 speed transmission for the V6, sunroof, upgraded stereo/navigation. Well, I would be, and with no announcements at this time, who knows.

The comparisons I've read so far suggest that the Ranger is not better than the Colorado overall. While it does provide buyers another option, I don't think there is anything significant about it that GM needs to scramble to catch up to / beat.

While I am not sure I am ready for a turbo, I think the logical thing would be to drop that turbo 4 from the Silverado into a mid-size truck. That might be the right fit for that turbo.

I have no need for a sunroof, and the upgrades done to the stereo since my 2015 are probably adequate. Seats would probably be the biggest focus of improvement for my truck.

I've read the 2020 is just a mid cycle refresh, with the new style coming out 2022.

True, but no one knows for sure of what is included in the "refresh". Same body of course, but what additions/enhancements will be made?
